On Saturday 3 October 2026, Lonehill International Academy hosted its biggest-ever Food, Fun, Sport and Family Festival — a wonderful celebration of culture, community and school spirit!
The motto for the day was “Many Cultures, One Community, One School,” and the event truly brought these words to life.
Families enjoyed an incredible culinary journey, sampling a variety of delicious dishes from different cultures. From the famous South African boerewors rolls to the mouth-watering flavours of Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, France, Benin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Portugal and Brazil, there was something for everyone to enjoy!
The excitement continued throughout the day with fantastic spot prizes and an exciting raffle draw, featuring an array of wonderful prizes, including stationery hampers, birthday vouchers and hotel dining experiences. A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors for helping make these prizes possible and contributing to the success of the festival.
There was no shortage of fun and entertainment, with activities such as a treasure hunt, cupcake decorating and bumper ball soccer keeping everyone engaged and entertained. The festival offered the perfect opportunity for families, learners and staff to connect, share experiences and create lasting memories.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the event had an important purpose: to raise funds topurchase smartboards for our classrooms. Eduboard joined us on the day to demonstrate how smartboards work, giving both parents and learners an opportunity to experience how this technology can enhance teaching and learning.
It was truly an unforgettable day, filled with delicious food, laughter, friendly competition and a wonderful sense of belonging. The festival was a beautiful reflection of the diversity that makes our school community so special.
