Terms and Conditions


By ticking the “I Agree” on the check box below, you agree with and accept all the terms and conditions as per all CAIE registration forms:–

  1. All information on the entry form is complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
    • You confirm that your personal details match with the details of your valid Passport, National ID, and/or Birth Certificate.  Your candidate details provided on either the Passport, National ID, or Birth Certificate will be considered final in event of any amendment on the statement of entry and the results certificate from CAIE.
    • You accept the responsibility to ascertain the place and date of the examination should the official notifications not reach you on the provided e-mail. The e-mail details provided will be the main and only way of correspondence between you and Lonehill Intranational Academy. No verbal instructions will be valid at any time.
    • You have referred to the syllabus specifications to ensure that you have registered for the correct subject/paper.
    • You confirm that you have consulted the current regulations, syllabuses, and the timetable, to have the right combination and to avoid any timetable clashes and forbidden combinations of subjects.
    • You agree and accept that Lonehill International Academy reserves the right to disallow you to take an examination if it is not satisfied with the identification document produced at the time of examination.
  2. Payment and fees
    • Registration fees must be paid by Online Cash Deposit or Bank Transfer into our Standard Bank Bank Account. The payment must be made within 3 working days before any deadline date for registration. All registrations will be cancelled if we do not receive the payment confirmation before the registration closure deadline.
    • (If applicable) You agree and accept that if the applicant is a Full-time Lonehill International Academy School Candidate, the applicant will not be allowed to register for any CAIE examination/s if the school fee account is not paid up to date in the month of registration for the specific CAIE examination series. Any payments made for CAIE examination/s can be allocated against outstanding school fees after the last day of registration. Please ensure that you keep the school fee account in good standing during the year.  
    • You agree and accept that CAIE exam fees are neither refundable nor carried forward to the next examination session after the registration deadline.
  3. Statement of Entry
    • A final Statement of Entry (SoE) will be provided by the examination officer before the start of the exam. School Candidates and Private Candidates will receive their SoE at their given email addresses.
  4. Identity Document
    • Candidates are required to bring the original copy of the following documents to the examination hall.
      • Statement of entry issued by the examination officer
      • Valid passport, National ID, Birth Certificate [No Identity document no entry]
  5. Special arrangements
    • You agree and accept that Lonehill International Academy only accepts extra time concessions granted by Cambridge International. Should your child require extra time for his/her examination, a written request should be submitted along with supporting documentation at least 30 days before the examination. You accept that an additional invigilation fee will be incurred.
    • You need to provide a recent medical/psychological report to substantiate your special needs request. To complete your special requirement application, the following criteria should be met:
      • Provide a clear statement of the candidate’s disability:
      • Clarify how the disability justifies special arrangements.
      • This should be in English only as the board needs to understand and agree to medical evidence.
      • The medical evidence must be in the form of a report prepared within one year before the test date.
      • An original document bearing the name, relevant qualification(s), and signature of a recognized practitioner must be provided.
      • Cambridges’ decision on whether to grant the special needs request is final and binding, and the outcome thereof will be relayed to the applicant.
  6. Cancellation
    • Candidates can request a cancellation of registration if notice of cancellation is given at least 5 weeks before the examination date. You agree and accept that an administration fee of 25% will be applicable in respect of any such cancellation.
    • You agree and accept that no refunds will be given if notice of cancellation is given for a period that is less than 5 weeks before the examination date, except for serious medical conditions. The school’s decision in this regard will be final and binding.
    • Candidates who wish to apply for a refund should submit a written letter, signed and addressed to the examination department. The letter should contain their bank details and proof of their bank account.
    • The School reserves the right to cancel an examination if less than 3 students are registered for such an exam. The candidate will be refunded in full in this instance.
  7. Disclaimer:
    • You agree that your child/you will sit for the advertised CAIE Examinations at Lonehill International Academy at the designated examination venue communicated to you, under the supervision of the Lonehill International Academy Examinations department. Lonehill International Academy staff members are responsible for the supervision of Candidates during the examination, and during full centre supervision, when applicable only for the duration of the exam, including additional time granted. It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian/Candidate to ensure the safe arrival to and departure from the examination venue as per the time indicated on the timetable.
    • The candidate’s personal information will only be used for internal purposes of Lonehill International Academy and registration with Cambridge International. Lonehill International Academy is committed to delivering the examination services according to the rules and regulations set by Cambridge International. However, we cannot be held responsible for any interruptions, which are caused by circumstances beyond our control. If examinations or their results are disrupted, cancelled, or delayed, every effort will be made to resume normal services as soon as possible.
    • Should you/your child/ren suffer from an illness during the exam period, Lonehill International Academy endeavours to contact you as a matter of urgency. It should be noted that the school has contracted with Emergimed, to supply assistance with any medical emergency on-site. Students are advised to bring copies of their medical aid with them should it be required at any time.
  • Terms and conditions continued:
    • Due to continued load shedding, faulty robots, and traffic congestion, students should add additional time to their journey to the examination venue. If a Candidate/s is/are late for any examination, no matter the reason for being late, a fee of R50 is applicable for every 5 minutes the candidate/s is/are late. Due to Covid protocols, the school promotes a drop-and-go system for parents. Students driving to the venue in their own vehicles MUST present a copy of their valid driver’s license to the main reception staff for recording purposes. There is a fully operational coffee shop on site that sells food and drinks as well as emergency examination stationery, including calculators, batteries, pens, etc.
    • (If applicable – I acknowledge and accept that I will be held liable for any breakage/damage to any apparatus/equipment in the Lonehill International Academy Laboratories)
    • Candidates are fully responsible to familiarise themselves with the dates, details and instructions of their examinations.
    • Unauthorised items in the examination venues:
      • Mobile Phones/ Smart Watches/Any other unauthorised Electronic Devices/
      • Calculator covers
    • Water bottles and pencil cases must be see-through/transparent
    • Calculators CAN NOT have •Graphing capabilities • Programmable functions  • Info retrieval capabilities. All calculators need to be cleared prior to entering the exam venue.

Notice to Candidates

Make sure you know the rules before you take your examinations.

  • You must be on time for all your examinations and any required periods of supervision.
  • You must provide what you need e.g. pens, pencils and rulers.
  • You may use a calculator unless you are told not to do so. You must not use the calculator function of another device.
  • You must not become involved in any unfair or dishonest practice before, during or after the examination.
  • You must not:
  • Sit an examination in the name of another candidate
  • Have in your possession any unauthorised material, including electronic devices and mobile phones
  • Have in your possession any equipment which might give you an unfair advantage.
  • Possession of a mobile phone or other unauthorised material is breaking the rules, even if you do not intend to use it. If found in possession of unauthorised material, you will be subject to a penalty and possible disqualification.
  • You must not talk to, attempt to communicate with, or disturb other candidates once you have entered the examination room.
  • You must follow the instructions of the invigilator.
  • If you are in any doubt speak to the invigilator.
  • You must, when leaving the examination room, leave behind the question paper, your answer book or answer paper, rough work, and any other (used or unused) materials.
