1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the registration and participation in Science Laboratory Practical Sessions hosted by Lonehill International Academy (Pty) Ltd (“the School”). By registering, the parent(s)/legal guardian(s) (“you”) and the student (“the Student”) agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Student and Parent/Guardian Information
By submitting the registration form, you confirm that all personal details provided are true and accurate. This includes contact information for both the parent/guardian and student, which will be used for all official communication and notices.
3. Payment Terms
3.1. Full upfront payment is required to confirm registration.
3.2. Students will not be allowed to attend sessions without prior full payment.
3.3. Fees are subject-specific and detailed in the School’s Fee Schedule.
3.4. Laboratory fees exclude Cambridge Examination fees, which are payable separately.
3.5. No refunds are granted under any circumstances, including non-attendance.
3.6. All payments must be made via PayFast on the School’s website. No other payment methods will be accepted.
4. Attendance and Conduct
4.1. Students must attend all sessions. Absences due to illness require a valid medical certificate.
4.2. Students must comply with the School’s code of conduct and policies.
4.3. The School reserves the right to deny access for non-compliance.
5. Dress Code and Safety Gear
5.1. Students must wear the following at all times during sessions:
a) A cotton laboratory coat (supplied by the student)
b) Safety glasses (supplied by the student)
c) Closed shoes with cotton socks
d) No synthetic fabrics, shorts, or spaghetti straps
5.2. The School does not provide any safety gear or lab coats.
5.3. Failure to comply with the dress code will result in denied access without refund, even if payment has been made.
5.4. Students must dress appropriately: no offensive logos, exposed undergarments, or short/revealing clothing. Tattoos must be covered.
6. Equipment and Property
6.1. All laboratory equipment remains the property of the School.
6.2. Lost or damaged equipment must be replaced at the Parent/Guardian’s expense.
6.3. The School is not liable for any personal items lost, stolen, or damaged on its premises.
7. Indemnity and Liability
7.1. The School accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items, unless in the direct possession of staff and caused by gross negligence.
7.2. Parents/Guardians indemnify and hold harmless the School, its employees, directors, and agents against all claims or damages arising from the Student’s participation, unless due to the School’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7.3. Parents/ Guardians remain responsible for the Student’s safety and conduct before and after scheduled sessions.
8. Registration and Termination
8.1. The School may refuse or terminate a registration for a workshop at its sole discretion.
8.2. Grounds for termination include:
a) Breach of this agreement
b) Misconduct
c) Non-payment
d) Violation of policies
8.3. No refunds will be issued following termination.
9. Required Materials
Parents/Guardians are responsible for acquiring the following (not included in the course fee):
a) Laboratory coats
b) Safety glasses
c) Practical manuals
d) Prescribed textbooks and study guides
10. Late Collection Fee
Students must be collected within 30 minutes of session end. Late collections will incur a R200.00 supervision fee, invoiced to the account.
11. Communication
All notices and correspondence will be sent to the email addresses provided during registration and are deemed legally delivered once sent.
12. Drop-off and Pick-up Protocols – Examination Days
GENERAL GUIDELINES
12.1. All Parents/Guardians, students, and drivers must adhere to the following drop-off and pick-up protocols to
ensure a smooth and efficient flow of traffic at the Lonehill Campus during Cambridge examinations.
12.2. Parents/Guardians may not wait on school premises before, during, or after the workshop sessions.
12.3. If no parking is available, Parents/Guardians must circle the area and return for collection.
12.4. Parking or waiting in driveways, in front of neighbouring properties, or on lawns is strictly prohibited.
DROP-OFF RULES – LONEHILL CAMPUS
12.5 Strict Drop-and-Go Policy: Parents/Guardians are required to drop students off and leave immediately. No waiting is allowed.
12.6 No Parking in Residential Areas: Do not park in front of neighbours’ gates or houses.
12.7 No Waiting in Vehicles: Vehicles must depart immediately after dropping off students.
12.8 Student Drivers: Students using their own transport cannot park in the street. They must make alternative arrangements to be allowed access, i.e. Uber or parent drop-off.
PICK-UP RULES – LONEHILL CAMPUS
12.9 Prompt Pick-Up: Parents/Guardians must collect students immediately after the end of the workshop.
12.10 No Parking in Residential Areas: No parking in front of neighbours’ gates or houses during pick-up.
13. Declaration and Consent
a) You consent to the processing of personal data for this purpose.
b) You have read, understood, and accepted all clauses above.
c) This agreement is binding upon acceptance. Amendments or cancellations must be made in writing and signed by both parties. By ticking “I Agree,” the Parent/Guardian accepts all terms and conditions.
